Parental involvement

We know children’s development at Bright Sojourner is maximised when parents offer complimentary support in the home environment. That is why we will always ensure that you are fully aware of every change in your child’s development. We foster a close relationship between staff members and parents so that parents are best informed on their child’s experience with us. If you want to speak to us about your child’s progress, there will always be someone who knows your child well to speak to you.

Dropping your child off

Our staffs are trained to assist you in receiving your child following your arrival. We appreciate that parents may have time pressure and our procedures are aimed at minimizing dropping-off time. You will be expected to sign in each time you drop off your child before leaving. This will also be an ideal time to let us know if there are any issues that we ought to know about your child’s physical and mental health on the day. You should also let us know if you have made alternative arrangements in respect of who to pick him/her up.

The earliest you can drop your child off is 8am for a morning or full-day session and 1pm for an afternoon session. If you drop your child off before this period, you will be required to pay an ‘Early Access’ fee of £5 for every 15 minutes before the above stipulated time.

Picking your child up

We encourage parents to set-off well in advance of the pick-up time for their child. You will be greeted by a member of staff who will bring your child to you. You will be expected to sign out each time you pick up your child before leaving. Before you leave a staff member will provide a daily report slip to you which should draw your attention to any issue that arose in the day in respect of your child’s care as well as providing developmental information.

A late collection fee is charged at £5 per 15 minutes (up to and inclusive of) for children collected after the specified time. This policy is used as a deterrent for the late collection of children.
